Superintendent - Columbus, OH

Responsibilities

• Affords assistance in the creation of work scopes and front-end documents for bidding.
• Participates in post-bid interviews and answers bidder questions.
• Selects potential contractors based on project requirements and their capability to fulfill the scope.
• Ensures adherence to corporate safety policies on the jobsite, including pre-task safety planning.
• Organizes and manages the daily field labor force.
• Supervises, coordinates, and sequences contractor's work to avoid interference between different contractors.
• Collaborates with Project Managers to manage the overall budget and forecast material usage.
• Develops site logistics plans to enhance productivity and reduce impact on building occupants.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of direct supervision of construction projects, including trade teams.
• A 4-year technical or engineering degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication skills, capable of interacting with various team members including contractors, architects, and owners.
• Ability to handle negotiations and conflicts professionally.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction principles, practices, and methods, along with performance standards, environmental regulations, and workplace safety.
• Market experience can include fields such as higher education, aerospace, sports facilities, and healthcare.
