About the role
The Superintendent manages the golf course maintenance department day-to-day activities through maintaining quality standards, developing and retaining maintenance employees and exceeding guest expectations. Must be able to do this in a consistent manner with consideration to a given annual budget.Responsibilities
- Daily communication with General Manager/Golf Professional on golf course condition and playability.
- Promotes Arcis Golf’s philosophies throughout the golf course to both employees and guests.
- Counsels and trains new employees.
- Conducts monthly golf course audit.
- Directs and delegates to Assistant Superintendent, Irrigation Technician, and Mechanic.
- Reviews monthly preliminary and final profit / loss statements with General Manager.
- Keeps all permits pertaining to maintenance department up to date.
- Develops and posts Maintenance Plan and Maintenance Standards.
- Has knowledge of irrigation systems inclusive of programming, maintenance, trouble shooting, scheduling, moisture control and pump station management.
- Has the ability to trouble shoot agronomic problems that may occur on the golf course.
- Maintains application equipment calibration and operation.
- Has considerable understanding of golf course maintenance equipment.
- Controls turnover, motivates employees, focuses on employee development and retention and participates in regular employee meetings.
- Ensures golf course is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws.
Requirements
Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in golf course maintenance, including experience managing a team of maintenance staff. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid CPR certification. Must have a valid First Aid certification. Must have a valid OSHA 10 certification.Qualifications
