Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage subcontractors on assigned projects.
- Oversee daily operations of the construction site.
- Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Cookordinate subcontractor activities to ensure productivity and compliance.
- Inspect materials and workmanship to verify adherence to project requirements.
- Manage jurisdictional inspections (building officials, health/fire departments, public works, owner walks).
- Maintain project schedules and ensure subcontractor alignment.
- Secure final inspections, certifications of occupancy, and compliance approvals.
- Lead punch list issuance and completion.
- Conduct weekly on-site safety meetings.
- Enforce subcontractor adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure a safe workplace for employees, customers, vendors, and operators.
- Climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding to verify compliance with contract documents.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts when necessary.
- Assist Project Manager with financial tracking, GC costs, and change requests.
- Support project closeout by compiling as-builts, warranties, and OEM manuals.
- Complete daily logs by end of each business day.
- Coordinate owner’s vendors and equipment.
- Review and approve submittals.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of commercial construction experience.
- Strong ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and submittals with a demonstrated understanding of architectural and MEP building systems.
- Excellent computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate, detailed paperwork and documentation.
- Proven experience managing daily field operations, subcontractors, inspections, safety, and schedule control.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with owners, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Highly motivated with strong organizational, teamwork, and customer-service skills.
- Experience supporting project financials, GC cost tracking, and closeout documentation.
- Proficiency with construction management software for logs, scheduling, and submittals.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding and navigate active construction sites for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, noise, uneven terrain).
- Capability to operate equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts when certified.
- Sufficient visual and auditory ability to perform inspections, identify hazards, and communicate effectively.
- Willingness to work extended hours when project needs require it.
