Superintendent
About the Role
The Superintendent will oversee the daily operation of a Scoular facility, ensuring the safety of location employees, directing non-exempt laborers, and assisting with recruitment and training of employees. The role includes performing operational duties and enhancing Scoular’s ability to operate and grow our business.
- Partner with business managers and merchants to coordinate transportation and maintenance needs, ensuring on-time deliveries.
- Responsible for product quality, quantity, inventories, and inbound/outbound product flow.
- Ensure equipment is functional, safe, and in good repair.
- Provide impeccable service to customers and direct vendors/customers in daily processes.
- Basic understanding of merchandising and accounting; contribute to revenue-generating ideas.
- Execute operational and merchandising strategies for the facility and trade unit.
- Drive the employee safety agenda, comply with all federal, state, and local regulations, and lead monthly safety meetings and training.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental requirements.
- Supervise and assist facility staff, schedule laborers, and provide recruitment, training, and direction for assigned personnel.
- Engage and inspire teams through inclusive leadership.
- Identify collaboration opportunities within and across divisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Results-driven with the ability to independently solve problems.
- Strong and effective communication skills.
- Peripheral vision and corrected vision to 20/20 in both eyes.
- Good hearing to hear bells, alarms, and telephonic equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of elevator operations.
- Knowledge of blend and mix processes.
- 1+ years of supervisory experience.
- 0-2 years of experience with recruitment or additional supervisory experience.
