Superintendent
Essential Responsibilities
- Ensures projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes
- Leads the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversees incident investigations
- Reviews and updates construction schedules, addresses delays, and contributes to project schedules
- Estimates activity durations and materials for complex projects
- Works knowledge of reporting and tracking of financial aspects of the project
- Participates in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement and negotiations
- Sets priorities and allocates resources as needed for the entire field team
- Provides leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents
Qualifications
- One to three years of experience in as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent
- Experience in aerial and underground fiber instillation methods is a plus. (Plow and Horizontal Directional Drill, HDD)
- Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices
- Effective Communication and leadership skills
- Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as sub-contractors
- Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address issues
- Strong organizational and planning skills
Working Conditions
- This is a site-based position
- Travel required throughout multiple states
- 50-70% travel
