About the role

Flintco, established in 1908, is a contractor with offices in 8 major cities and employs over 900 professionals. We specialize in projects across various sectors including healthcare, education, hospitality, sports, residential, advanced industries, and renewable energy. Our Superintendents oversee projects, ensuring safety, quality, and timely completion.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Project Manager to prepare project schedule and budget
  • Familiarize with project plans, specifications, contracts, and documents
  • Select and manage equipment and resources for the project
  • Enforce company safety policies and conduct safety meetings
  • Select and manage employees and subcontractors
  • Audit and approve invoices and expenditures
  • Instruct and supervise subordinates in job direction and company policies
  • Inspect work for compliance with contract requirements and quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with federal policies on equal employment opportunity and non-discrimination

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience on commercial construction projects and management of field personnel
  • Demonstrated ability to manage ground-up commercial projects

Qualifications

Must be able to practice, instruct, and enforce OSHA safety guidelines and company policies. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must have strong organizational and supervisory skills.

Skills

  • Prepare detailed construction plans, schedules, and estimates
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Calculate square footage, volumes, and percentages using personal computer or calculator
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Manage large groups of personnel and achieve desired results through subordinate levels of management
