Superintendent
About the role
The General Superintendent provides executive-level field leadership and oversight for all electrical construction and service operations within a region. This role is accountable for all field talent, safety, quality, and project execution. The General Superintendent partners with Project Managers, Operations leadership, and the HR and Safety teams to ensure successful project outcomes, workforce development, and operational consistency across multiple job sites.
Responsibilities
- Lead all field operations for the region, ensuring alignment with company objectives, safety standards, and customer expectations.
- Translate strategic goals into operational plans that optimize labor productivity, quality, and profitability.
- Oversee multiple Site Superintendents and Foremen, ensuring consistency in execution and adherence to company standards.
- Participate in preconstruction planning, staffing allocation, and project scheduling across all active and upcoming projects.
- Directly oversee the selection, development, and performance management of all regional field leaders (Superintendents, Foremen, and field staff).
- Partner with HR to forecast field staffing needs, identify high-potential talent, and execute training and development plans.
- Foster a culture of accountability, communication, and continuous improvement. Ensure all field personnel uphold CS Erickson’s core values and safety culture.
- Establish and enforce field operations standards, including project startup procedures, safety compliance, and quality assurance.
- Identify opportunities for process and efficiency improvement and drive consistent adoption of best practices across projects.
- Partner with Project Managers to ensure accurate forecasting of manpower, material, and equipment needs.
- Serve as the senior field leader for major regional projects, ensuring on-time delivery and high-quality execution.
- Support Project Managers and Site Superintendents in resolving field issues, maintaining schedules, and achieving project budgets.
- Act as a key liaison with clients and general contractors regarding field operations, safety, and quality.
- Represent CS Erickson in client meetings, project reviews, and partner relationships as needed.
- Manage internal regional field labor resources to ensure optimal staffing, efficient utilization, and productivity across all projects.
- Partner with HR to address short-term labor needs through approved temporary staffing suppliers.
- Support the SVP of Southwest Region and Operations leadership in evaluating project performance, manpower costs, and margin protection.
- Provide input into annual budgeting, forecasting, and workforce planning.
