Super Relief/ Dietary
Position Purpose
The Super Relief - Dietary position contributes to the needs of the department through scheduling flexibility to meet operational needs. The position supports the quality caring philosophies of SFHMC through job professionalism, communication, and established practices.
What You Will Do
- Assists with all aspects of meal service to customers, ensuring satisfaction, consistent quality and accuracy.
- Sets up work/service area according to established procedure and time frames to ensure efficiency and timeliness of service.
- Loads and delivers food trucks or trays (to: floors, retherm truck, dishroom) following appropriate procedures within established time frames.
- Cleans and sanitizes assigned work area and equipment, maintaining safety and sanitation standards of the department throughout the day and upon completion of daily work assignments.
- Follows established food handling practices and foodservice standards at all times for service delivery and/or retrieval.
- Adheres to all safety and sanitation standards of the department.
Working Conditions
Moderate to significant amount of lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, standing and walking are required. Must follow written and verbal instructions in English. Works in an institutional kitchen setting and subject to hazards associated with such an environment, including wet surfaces, cooking equipment, sharp instruments and refrigerated areas. Employee may frequently be exposed to high, low and sudden fluctuations in temperatures, grease or oil; dust; hazardous materials such as chemicals; bodily injuries; unpleasant noise; high humidity or wetness.
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED preferred.
- Food service experience preferred.
- Licensure: Valid CT driver’s license required.
Skills
- Excellent customer relation skills.
- Able to read and understand written and verbal instruction in English.
- Able to use a calculator to perform simple mathematical calculations.
