Overview of the Position

Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required (at the time of start date); TESOL certificate and/or Master’s degree preferred
- Prior EFL/ESL teaching experience strongly preferred
- Experience working with multicultural and multilingual classrooms strongly preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Command of Google Drive (including Google Sheets and Google Slides) and the Microsoft suite of products (including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Self-motivated, organized, professional, and adaptable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Interact with groups of international high school students and their group leaders in a professional, enthusiastic, and customer service-oriented manner
- Be familiar with, adhere to, and enforce Brook Hill policies and procedures, including emergency and public health protocols
- Ensure the safety of all participants
- Be familiar with campus-specific information
- Maintain frequent communication with Brook Hill staff
- Aid in emergency situations, as needed
- Complete all Brook Hill assessments received during employment period
- Aid in duties other than the aforementioned and the following, as assigned and as they arise
- Deliver well-prepared English as a Foreign Language lessons to diverse classrooms of international high school students in a professional and engaging manner
- Review the curriculum provided by Brook Hill to adequately prepare for each lesson; instructors should be prepared to supplement the curriculum with their own materials, as appropriate
- Assess whether students have been placed in the correct level of instruction
- Orally assess students’ proficiency levels, as directed by the Academic Supervisor
- Practice appropriate classroom management techniques to ensure a safe, comfortable, and engaging learning environment for all students
- Track students’ attendance on a daily basis
- Fill out a Certificate of Course Completion for each student at the conclusion of their course
- Collaborate with the Academic Supervisor and Brook Hill administration regarding instructional methods and the curriculum
- Attend training sessions and any additional meetings organized by the Academic Supervisor and/or Brook Hill administration
- Maintain frequent and professional communication with the Academic Supervisor
- Perform other duties, as assigned
Compensation
Pay scale is determined by campus location and program size. The pay scale for this position is: $24.00-$27.00 per hour.
