Summer School Teachers (PT)

About the Role

We are looking for part-time Summer School Teachers to join the International Academy of Flint (IAF), a K-12 charter school in Flint. At IAF, our teachers and students work together through a rigorous curriculum focused on learning improvement and mastery attainment in a secure campus environment. We bring students from diverse backgrounds together to collaborate, build strong relationships, and explore new learning opportunities.

The Teacher enables student academic achievement through the implementation of the SABIS® curriculum and philosophy, using the SABIS® Point System™ of instruction. You will oversee students to ensure a safe, conducive learning environment and maintain the professional SABIS® image. The role requires proper planning and follow-up for students' academic progress, collaboration with the Student Life and Student Management teams, and accurate, timely reporting to the Academic Quality Controller as required by SABIS® and governmental bodies.

The Teacher fulfills a requirement of 30 student contact hours per week. Primary assignments may include teaching a specific grade level (with homeroom duties) or subject teaching across multiple classes in regular or intensive settings. Additional non-instructional duties may include proctoring exams or supervising recess or lunch. Attendance at all school functions is required.

Responsibilities

• Implement the SABIS® curriculum and philosophy using the SABIS® Point System™ of instruction.
• Ensure a safe academic environment conducive to learning and maintain the professional SABIS® image.
• Plan and follow up on the academic progress of all students, collaborating with Student Life and Student Management teams.
• Provide accurate and timely reporting to the Academic Quality Controller regarding students’ performance and challenges, with recommendations for action.
• Fulfill 30 student contact hours per week, teaching specific grade levels or subjects across multiple classes.
• Perform additional non-instructional duties such as proctoring exams or supervising recess/lunch.
• Attend all school functions.

Requirements

• Elementary or Secondary teaching certification required.
• Motivated, creative, flexible, and highly organized with a strong determination to foster academic achievement for all students.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a structured, supportive environment with embedded professional development.

Qualifications
