Are you an enthusiastic and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist prepared to assist students in Manhattan develop their communication abilities? Knowledge Road is seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team and deliver vital support to students in NYC Department of Education (DOE) schools. With a major shortage throughout the city of related service providers, your skills are critically needed to help students with addressing communication difficulties and reaching academic objectives. This is a chance to create a significant impact, engaging with students with varied communication requirements in school environments. As an SLP with Knowledge Road, you will enjoy the freedom to deliver individualized therapy utilizing evidence-based methods, partnering with school teams and families to foster student communication development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, high-quality speech and language therapy services to students in both individual and group settings, according to their Individualized Education Service Programs/Individualized Education Programs (IESP/IEP).
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose and evaluate speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
  • Develop and implement innovative and effective treatment plans customized to the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other school professionals to establish a holistic and supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all services, progress, and outcomes in accordance with DOE and Knowledge Road standards.
  • Participate actively in IESP/IEP meetings, offering expert insights and recommendations to advance student progress.

Qualifications

  • Current valid NYS license in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a school-based setting.
  • Proficiency with electronic documentation and teletherapy platforms.
  • NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status required or willingness to complete prior to start.

Schedule & Location

This is a Summer part-time position in Brooklyn following a schedule that aligns with the NYC DOE calendar. You will deliver services on-site at schools in the Brooklyn area, with assignments determined by student needs. Hours per week are based on IESP/IEP requirements; caseload may differ by assignment. Typically ~5-15 hours/week depending on placements. The role runs from July 2026 through August 2026.

Compensation

This 1099 contractor role provides tiered hourly rates $80/hr
