Responsibilities
- Performs general clean-up, labor responsibilities, and material handling duties.
- Complies with all applicable safety policies and regulations.
- Promotes and follows all plant safety guidelines.
- Assists in removing and installing refractory lining in the kiln, preheat tower, coolers, and other related plant equipment.
- Assists with concrete pours, and mixing and pouring special castables.
- Digs out and assists with repairs to underground air, water and gas lines.
- Handles all chemicals for cement grinding and moves materials and equipment to job site.
- Assists in screening grinding balls and recharging mill grinding ball load.
- Performs emergency railroad track repairs.
- Cleans railroad hopper and box cars
- Observes all safety rules, wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and keeps work areas and equipment clean and orderly.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age, a high school graduate, and able to show proof of acceptance to an accredited 2- or 4-year college or technical institution.
- Able to pass post-offer drug screen and physical abilities test.
- Able to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
- Willingness to learn, training will be provided.
- Able to operate heavy equipment.
- Able to read and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to walk over rough surfaces, climb ladders, climb stairs, bend, push, pull, work in awkward positions, perform work in confined spaces, and lift materials up to 100 lbs.
