Summer Internship - Structural Engineering

Overview

HKS is seeking a Summer Intern to join the Structural team.

Responsibilities

With close supervision, summer interns will work with professional engineers, engineers‑in‑training, and drafters on current projects.

• Analysis and design of building structure components such as foundations, columns, beams and floor framing systems, lateral force resisting systems, etc.
• Learning several structural analysis software packages.
• Use of Revit to coordinate with architecture and other disciplines and to produce construction documents.
• Construction administration tasks such as reviewing RFIs and submittals.
• Potential for construction site visits in the vicinity of the internship.

Qualifications

• Currently a college student working toward a professional degree from an accredited Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering program.
• Entry‑level student intern on the path to Engineer‑in‑Training certification with little or no previous experience.
• Working knowledge of Revit or other BIM drafting and presentation tools preferred.
