About the role
The Marketing Technology (MarTech) Intern will join Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals' Marketing team to explore how artificial intelligence can enhance marketing strategy, creativity, and operational efficiency. This 11-week summer internship offers a unique opportunity to evaluate real-world marketing workflows, experiment with emerging AI tools, and help shape best practices for responsible AI adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate internal marketing workflows and external campaign processes to identify opportunities for AI-enabled efficiency, content creation, and personalization.
- Support creative and omnichannel marketing ideation by exploring how AI tools can enhance messaging, channel strategy, and campaign planning.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to assess AI tools and their potential applications in marketing.
- Conduct an audit of how AI is currently used within marketing activities.
- Develop best-practice guidance and creative frameworks to inform the adoption of AI tools across the marketing team.
- Design and deliver an AI workshop for the marketing organization, highlighting free and readily available tools that can improve day-to-day efficiency.
- Stay current on emerging MarTech and AI trends relevant to healthcare and pharmaceutical marketing.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled student at an accredited university or college.
- At least one year completed toward a degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Life Sciences, Public Health, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present insights and recommendations.
- Demonstrated interest in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Able to analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources to generate actionable insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Valid authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework or experience in healthcare marketing, digital marketing, analytics, or marketing technology.
- Familiarity with omnichannel marketing concepts (e.g., email, web, social media, CRM).
- Experience working on group projects or internships in a professional or regulated environment.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and manage priorities.
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for exploring how AI can responsibly enhance marketing effectiveness.
