Description Gain valuable insight into the role of an in-house legal department at one of America's leading transportation companies. As a Union Pacific Summer Law Clerk, you'll gain firsthand experience working alongside experienced in-house attorneys on matters involving transportation, intellectual property, commercial contracts, supply chain, regulatory affairs, litigation, employment law, and more. Throughout the program, Law Clerks receive mentoring, guidance, and developmental feedback to better understand the role of an in-house legal department at one of America's leading transportation companies. Union Pacific Railroad Company’s Law Department is seeking up to two Summer Law Clerks assigned to the Law Department in Omaha, Nebraska. During the summer, Law Clerks are required to work in Omaha, NE, 40 hours per week. Union Pacific is sourcing candidates nationwide, and summer relocation assistance and housing are provided for qualified students living more than 75 miles from Omaha. In addition to supporting a variety of legal practice areas, Summer Law Clerks may participate in elements of Union Pacific’s broader summer internship program, including networking, professional development, educational events, and other intern activities. Following the summer program, the position has the potential to transition to a year-round internship while the student remains enrolled in school. The academic-year schedule is flexible and can be designed around the successful candidate’s academic commitments, with an average of 15-20 hours per week. Positions are available only while students are in school and do not guarantee full-time employment after the internship. The estimated wage for this position is $31.00 per hour. Final rate of pay will be based on several factors including year of study, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
