Summer Intern
About the role
The CGC Summer Internship Program is a structured, mission-driven experience designed to provide meaningful, hands-on exposure to CGC’s finance, accounting, and operational work. Interns will support one of CGC’s divisions based on organizational priorities and business needs. This internship provides an opportunity to contribute to real projects, gain exposure to cross-functional collaboration, and support work connected to CGC’s clean energy, infrastructure, finance, and operations priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting active projects aligned with CGC’s clean energy and infrastructure investment initiatives
- Conducting research, financial analysis, modeling, data analysis, or operational analysis
- Auditing the contract database and reconciling information against vendor invoicing
- Auditing grant draw files against accounting records
- Supporting the Controller with documenting processes and procedures related to managing investments from an internal control and accounting perspective
- Supporting other ad-hoc finance, accounting, and operations projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidates must meet one of the following education levels:
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Program – Junior or Senior Status
- Currently enrolled in an accredited BA/BS program
- Entering junior or senior year at the time of the internship
- Bachelor’s Degree Graduate
- Enrolled in a Master’s Program
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Master’s program
- At least one semester, or equivalent, remaining at the time of application
- Master’s Degree Graduate
- All Candidates Should Demonstrate Strong academic performance
- Interest in clean energy, infrastructure finance, public-private investment, mission-driven finance, accounting, or operations
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately
- Comfort working with spreadsheets, reports, and internal documentation
Preferred Areas of Study
- Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration
- Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or Quantitative Finance
- Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or Financial Technology
Program Structure
- Hands-on project work within assigned division
- Dedicated mentorship and structured oversight
- Professional development sessions and networking exposure
- Final capstone presentation and recognition event
