Summer Groundskeeper
Position Summary
The Groundskeeper is a contact point for students, teachers, support staff, colleagues and parents. The Groundskeeper is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the grounds area assigned to them, security, safety, and other functions as assigned.
Essential Duties
- Affiliate grass cutting, athletic field marking and asphalt striping
- Aid building administrators and other support staff in setting up for events and other special tasks as assigned by the Lead Groundskeeper
- Implement and follow through on projects assigned in buildings during slow workdays and rain days
- Direct service, including daily cleaning (trash), mowing, and raking leaves around buildings and at athletic facilities including playgrounds
- Perform small landscaping projects as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
Working Environment/Physical Demands
- Continuous standing and walking
- Frequent stooping, squatting, kneeling, crawling, sitting, walking, standing, hearing, talking, and seeing
- Frequent lifting and/or moving of equipment, supplies and furniture
- Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
- Frequent pushing and pulling
- Work with various chemicals and follow Material Safety Data Sheet
- Work with personal protective equipment
- Work outside during inclement weather
