Overview The Education Pioneers Summer Fellowship provides talented graduate students an opportunity to engage with critical challenges in the education sector, address systemic inequities, and help close the opportunity gap. We recruit candidates with skills in data analysis, strategy, operations, and project management to partner with leading K-12 school districts, charter schools, and other education and place-based organizations working to improve outcomes for students and communities.As part of our continued focus on expanding the reach and impact of the Fellowship, Fellows may have the opportunity to work with organizations that bring together schools, community organizations, government, and other partners to address complex challenges at a broader systems level. These placements can offer Fellows the opportunity to contribute to work with impact that extends beyond a single school or organization and reaches across communities and systems.Fellows participate in a 10-week, project-based placement with a partner organization while receiving leadership development from EP alongside a cohort of peers. High-Impact Work Experience10-week placement on a mission-critical project aligned with your professional background and skillsSupervision and management by an experienced leader$10,000 stipend, before applicable taxes and other withholdingsLeadership DevelopmentExposure to social impact leaders who address ongoing challenges and opportunities in the education sectorEngage in in-person learning experiences that support leadership development in advancement of educational equityParticipate in communities of practice that deepen relationships and develop skills and perspectives necessary for short and long-term impactAlumni NetworkBuild lasting professional connections with a diverse cohort of peersAccess to a robust, nationwide network of industry leaders and more than 4,600 EP AlumniLifelong access to the EP network for advice, connection, and career opportunitiesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degreeTwo years of full time work experience, excluding undergraduate internships OR if currently enrolled or holds a graduate degree, 1 year of professional, full-time work experience (excluding internships).Commitment to Education Pioneers’ mission and values, and a passion for social impactCommitment to the full program term, including the ability to complete 10 consecutive weeks of employment, attend in-person convenings, and other mandatory aspects of the FellowshipPreferred QualificationsEnrollment in or completion of graduate degree programExperience in data and analysis, operations, consulting, strategy, project and program management, HR, finance, accounting, budgeting, communications and/or marketing (professional experience outside of the classroom is preferred)Intermediate or Advanced skills in Excel and knowledge in Tableau, SPSS, STATA, R, or other data visualization and data management software is a plusExperience in cross functional collaboration, information synthesis, stakeholder engagement, relationship management or systems thinkingAbility to take initiative and drive results in complex or evolving environmentsTrack record of success in academic and professional settingsStrong communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholdersEmotional intelligence, adaptability, initiative, humility, equity orientation and alignment with our missionEligibility Due to the complex and timebound nature of our onboarding timelines, our limited capacity as a small nonprofit organization, and our mission to build long-term talent pipelines for US education systems, individuals in F-1 visa status, including those authorized to work pursuant to OPT or CPT, are not eligible for the Impact Fellowship or Summer Fellowship.
