Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Implement and coordinate a Summer Learning Loss program integrating literacy and ELA curricula into summer camp in order to address academic achievement gaps and promote interest in learning.
• Provide three hours of direct instruction (plus one hour preparation time per day) 4 days per week to Campers in grades 1-7.
• Create a robust, hands-on and effective learning environment for campers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching ELA
• Knowledge of youth development principles
• Able to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
• Able to work with children and youth from a variety of backgrounds
• Able to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

• Massachusetts ELA Licensure (grades 1-7) highly preferred

Travel

Travel between sites and to activities as needed

Start Date

June 29, 2026 – summer seasonal position (desired start date yet position open until filled)

Location

Roxbury, MA (Yawkey Club)

Pay & Benefits

• Salary - $36/hour-$40/hour - commensurate with experience
