Description
This position involves organizing and supervising children (ages 5-12) in a summer day camp setting. Activities include arts and crafts, music and dance, sports and games, special events, field trips, and more. Cleaning and sanitizing duties are also required.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that engage and entertain elementary-aged children.
- Create a safe and inclusive environment that promotes teamwork, cooperation, and respect.
- Absorb and assist with the setup and cleanup of daily activities and ensure a clean, organized camp space.
- Actively participate in all camp events, including field trips, water park visits, themed days, dodgeball, bowling, movies, and more.
- Collaborate with fellow counselors and camp staff to ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for all campers.
- Communicate regularly with parents, providing updates on their child’s participation and camp activities.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old and have graduated from high school or equivalent.
- Necessary Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Strong communication skills to interact with children, parents, and the public. Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organized in a dynamic environment. Capacity to create a nurturing and positive environment for young children.
- Additional Desirable Qualification: Previous experience in recreation programs, summer camps, or childcare is preferred.
Supplemental Information
- Mandatory training will take place from June 22nd to June 26th.
