Summer Associate - Mortgage
About the role
Five Star Bank’s Summer Associate Program is designed to develop the next generation of financial services professionals to help us advance our vision of being an independent, high-performing community bank. As a Mortgage Summer Associate, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Mortgage team by assisting with loan processing, document review, customer service, and compliance activities—while also contributing to sales initiatives through lead generation, client outreach, and relationship-building efforts. This internship offers a dynamic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the full mortgage lending lifecycle within a community banking environment, blending operational insight with front-line exposure to customer engagement and growth strategies.
Responsibilities
- Assist with mortgage loan application processing, including document collection and verification
- Assist in generating mortgage leads through client outreach, community engagement, and referral follow-ups, while supporting the sales team in promoting loan products and cultivating relationships with prospective borrowers.
- Support the review of loan files to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Help coordinate communication between borrowers, loan officers, and underwriting teams
