Summer Associate Internship (Finance)

Overview Finance supports our mission and enables our strategic priorities by providing insights that transform the business by making the complex simple and ensuring we have safe and sound financial information. All Summer Associates positions on the Finance team will be provided the opportunity to learn how the finance and accounting fields play a critical role to our members. Summer Associates will be provided an opportunity to develop business knowledge, technical skills, and exercise creative problem-solving. Additionally, candidates will receive targeted training and mentoring as well as receiving guidance from management. The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2027 and ending in August 2027. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later. Responsibilities Analysis of business portfolio performance using data manipulation and visualization techniquesSupport forecast model improvements through the analysis of key business trendsDevelop financial forecasts and analyze key performance metrics to provide meaningful insight into business trends, risk and regulatory environments, technology modernization, and financial performanceConsolidate business segment performance and financial reportingProvide support to assigned department, may work on small projects or portions of larger projectsDevelop skills in the creation, execution, and prioritization of system modernization and risk tasks to support the evaluation of the operational performance of existing controls and devise remediation strategies that align control performance with the appropriate risk mitigation methodologyAssist and collaborate with various levels of staff to accomplish tasks/assignmentsPerform other duties as assigned Qualifications Course work in Finance, Accounting and Economics, but not required to be concentrated in these fieldsStrong critical and analytical thinking skillsStrong working knowledge of ExcelExperience with research, analysis, and data manipulationStrong communication and presentation-building skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively Additional Information Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Location: 820 Follin Lane, Vienna, VA 22180 5510 Heritage Oaks Drive, Pensacola, FL 32526 About Us Navy Federal provides much more than a job.
