Summer Assistant Teacher

Your Role

In this Summer Camp role, you will support our Lead Teacher in guiding children to be more independent and confident in their abilities. This is a great opportunity to start your career in Montessori, and early childhood education more generally, as many of our Assistant Guides ultimately grow to take on Lead Guide roles over time, thanks to our MACTE-accredited Montessori training program.

About the role

We are now hiring for Summer Assistant Teachers for the 2026 Summertime at our lovely Guidepost school at Mill Valley!

Our summer camps run from June to August. We are hiring for both full-time and part-time roles. Pay is $20-24/hr

Requirements

• Familiar with the development of young children
• Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-service oriented mindset
• Willing to grow and learn
• Valid negative TB test (in the last 12 months) or willing to take one before your state date
• Valid CPR certification or willing to become certified before start date
• Excited to learn more about Montessori Education

Qualifications

• MACTE-accredited Montessori training

• Observe children closely to understand and best meet their needs
• Prepare a beautiful, orderly environment that fosters independence and concentration
• Provide individual and small-group lessons to support each child’s development
• Form personal connections with each child and cultivate a community of collaboration and respect
