Job Responsibilities
- Work on an assigned, individual Land project throughout the summer, culminating in a presentation of the completed project to Diamondback’s executive team
- Develop and increase knowledge in all phases of Land under the direction of an assigned, experienced mentor
- Research and analyze leases, operating agreements, term assignments, and other contracts to determine obligations
- Confirm ownership in operated and non-operated wells to determine options for well proposals
- Assist in surface use agreements and negotiations with landowners, review title opinions and perform title curative responsibilities
- Work directly with teams across other disciplines to experience what working in an Oil & Gas Exploration and Production company is like
- Participate in on-site field visits to learn about field operations, including an active drilling rig and active completions spread
- Participate in intern events and philanthropic endeavors that support the Midland-Odessa community
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Energy Management/Energy Commerce
- Must have strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills
- Must be willing to work in Midland, TX for the duration of the internship
- Must be returning to school for the Fall 2027 semester
Preferred Qualifications
- Cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher
- Extracurricular achievements or prior work experience
- Membership in the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL)
