Summer 2027 Underwriting Operations Internship

About the role

As an Underwriting Operations intern, you are the backbone of the underwriting process and act as the Underwriter’s business partner. You will interpret team and client needs, prioritize tasks, and execute responsibilities while learning the underwriting process. This role involves proposing innovative recommendations and collaborating with others to deliver high-quality results.

Responsibilities

• Computes and rates premium for new, renewal, and/or endorsement business.
• Delivers initial pricing to your Underwriting partner.
• Interacts directly with underwriters to assist in underwriting analysis and documentation.
• Services accounts, including resolving agents’ inquiries, complaints, and requests.
• Performs policy processing activities.
• Performs applicable procedures to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
• Orders and obtains various reports, such as MVR, D&B, etc.

Requirements

• Must be a rising junior with a targeted graduation date of May 2028 (2026, 2027, or 2029 graduates are not eligible).
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging for professionals at all levels.
• Ability to learn quickly, make an immediate impact, and provide value-added services.

Schedule

• Full-time, 5 days a week in the Morristown, NJ office (no remote work).
• Internship runs from June to August 2027.
