Summer 2027 Sales Analytics Internship

About the Role

Join Southwest Airlines as a Summer 2027 Sales Analytics Intern and gain hands-on experience supporting the Southwest Business Analytics Team. This 12-week internship runs from May 18 to August 8, 2027, and is based at our Dallas, TX headquarters. Interns will work 40 hours per week, earning $22-$26 per hour, with stipends available based on eligibility. Enjoy free, unlimited space-available travel privileges and receive all necessary equipment, including a laptop.

Responsibilities

• Generate reports, dashboards, and presentations highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs), revenue drivers, and account performance metrics.
• Provide analytics and CRM support for sales teams, including customer data analysis and business initiative inquiries.
• Gather, analyze, and interpret data from Salesforce, Southwest databases, and other sources to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights.
• Research, validate, and maintain data integrity by reviewing internal and third-party data sources.
• Prepare, scrub, and format data for reporting and system compatibility.
• Utilize Salesforce to update account information, manage data uploads, track activities, and support Account Manager requests.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education required.
• Progress toward a degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Finance, Economics, Management Information Systems, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration, Marketing, Professional Sales, or similar field.
• Currently enrolled as a full-time student with at least 3 semesters remaining preferred.
• Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application.
• U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. required.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis, visualization).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience or familiarity with Salesforce and CRM systems.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and integrity.
• Self-motivated and team-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with forecasting software and models.
• Programming knowledge in SQL, VBA, or other database management tools.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
• Exposure to data cleansing and transformation tools (e.g., Alteryx).
• Knowledge of data science project lifecycle and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to evaluate data science, machine learning, AI, or optimization techniques for business problems.
• Basic understanding of financial concepts and principles.
• Project management experience.
• Experience with Salesforce or CRM tools.
