About the Role
This internship provides hands-on experience working alongside professionals at all levels, offering the same exposure as our associate-level hires. You will gain insight into IT Audit through interactive and engaging programming, including fieldwork related to client engagements such as:
- System and Organization Controls (SOC) audits
- IT General Controls support
- HITRUST Cyber Security Framework
- Cybersecurity Assessments
- ISO Assessments
- Sarbanes-Oxley
- Internal Audits
- Agreed Upon Procedures engagements
You will also interact with clients to identify and resolve audit issues. Time allocation breakdown:
- 50% project work
- 10% client-facing activities
- 20% internal meetings
- 10% continued learning
- 10% individual work
Summer start date: June 15, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Gain real-world exposure to IT audits, reviews, compilations, and projects.
- Learn the client's platform structure and control environment to evaluate process risks, develop tests for key controls, write audit reports, and determine the effectiveness of controls.
- Perform audits, reviews, compilations, and various audit and/or consulting engagements, including ISO, Cybersecurity, SOC I, and SOC II.
- Interpret and analyze audit evidence, operational data, and/or information systems, drawing logical conclusions based on evidence submitted.
- Participate in live interviews with C-suite clients to understand current state processes.
- Apply specialized knowledge, including rules, regulations, and code of ethics of the AICPA, ISACA, IIA, and applicable state regulations.
Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master’s program in business, accounting, finance, economics, information systems, or equivalent (MIS preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Plan to complete the 150 semester/225 quarter unit requirement for CPA licensure eligibility between December 2025 and August 2026 (strongly preferred).
Pay
The compensation range for this position is $33.00/hour. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location.
