Summer 2027 - Investment Internship NYC

About the Role

Capstone Investment Advisors is offering a ten-week 2027 Summer Internship program designed to provide practical exposure to the firm’s investment activities and working environment. Interns will support an investment pod, complete a defined project, and gain exposure to investment research, market analysis, quantitative methods, automation, and day-to-day team activities. Potential pod placements include Sovereign Rates Relative Value, Global Equity Volatility, Quantitative Strategies, Convertible Bond Arbitrage, and Equity Capital Markets, among others.

Responsibilities

• Support an investment pod in their day-to-day activities.
• Complete a defined project addressing a relevant business need.
• Gain exposure to investment research, market analysis, quantitative methods, and automation.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Economics, Econometrics, Finance, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field).
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java, with the ability to apply programming skills to data analysis, quantitative problem-solving, or similar technical work.
• Strong learning agility and intellectual curiosity.
• Ability to contribute effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Professional and accountable approach to work, consistent with the firm’s culture and values.

Qualifications

• Prior internship, academic, or professional experience within financial services, investment management, or a related field (preferred).
• Intellectual curiosity, humility, high ethical standards, and a desire to excel.
• Keen curiosity about technology and artificial intelligence.

Pay

The applicable hourly range for this role is $29.00 - $40.00/hr USD. The hourly pay offered will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements.
