Summer 2027 Internship: Development Capital Strategy
About the role
At QTS Data Centers we design, build, and operate some of the world’s most advanced data centers while embedding sustainability and renewable energy solutions into everything we do. As a Capital Development Strategy Intern you will collaborate with Development, Finance, Accounting, and Procurement teams on strategic capital initiatives that support current and future project portfolios.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Development, Finance, Accounting, and Procurement teams on strategic capital initiatives.
- Support new development capital project requests and approvals in monthly senior executive committee meetings.
- Maintain and create cost projections for greenfield construction and incremental site builds.
- Work on equipment procurement and delivery processes.
- Develop new processes and documentation to improve capital project management.
- Apply industry-leading practices to improve overall business performance.
Basic Qualifications
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, or a related program.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current full-time enrollment in one of QTS’s partner institutions (Auburn University, Kansas State University, Georgia State University, Southern Adventist University, Texas A&M University, University of Kansas) or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school.
- Previous internship or co-op experience researching capital projects and building out advanced reports for strategic planning.
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork (athletics, clubs, volunteering, part-time employment).

Pay
In accordance with applicable law, the estimated pay range for this role if based in Virginia is $19.50 – $29.82 per hour. The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. Roles outside Virginia are compensated in alignment with local market conditions.
