About the role

CNO Financial Group is hiring a 40|86 Investment Research 2027 Intern to work alongside experienced 40|86 Investment Research associates, assisting with day-to-day work within the department. This is a paid internship at competitive rates, with Memorial Day and 4th of July holidays as paid days off.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with research and analysis of companies and industries to support the investment team's decision-making process.
  • Help build, update, and maintain financial models under the guidance of senior analysts and portfolio managers.
  • Monitor company news, earnings releases, and industry developments, and summarize key findings for the investment team.
  • Collaborate with analysts, portfolio managers, and traders by gathering data, preparing reports, and supporting investment-related projects.
  • Prepare presentations, market updates, and research summaries to help inform team discussions and investment reviews.

Requirements

  • Progress towards a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or related discipline.
  • Status as a rising junior or rising senior, with approximate graduation dates of December 2027–June 2029.
  • Availability to work 40 hrs/week for 10–12 weeks during the summer.
  • Candidate location in Central or Eastern US time zone is preferred OR willingness to work Central or Eastern time zone business hours.
  • Reside within a 60-mile radius of the Carmel, IN or Chicago, IL corporate office and be required to come into that office. Periodic travel to other corporate offices may be required.
  • Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.

Qualifications

  • Prior internship experience.
  • Balancing education and a part-time job during the school year.
  • Participation with university clubs.

Schedule

The CNO 2027 internship program will run May 17 through August 06, 2027.

Pay

The stated pay range is based on a national-average location. Actual salary is determined by factors including relevant work experience, skills, and location. This position is also eligible for CNO’s performance-based annual bonus program.
