About the role

CNO Financial Group is hiring a 40|86 Investment Research 2027 Intern to work alongside experienced 40|86 Investment Research associates, assisting with day-to-day work within the department. This is a paid internship at competitive rates, with paid days off for Memorial Day and the 4th of July.

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. The company does not intend to sponsor work visas for this position or future full-time employment opportunities.

This role is affiliated with the Carmel, IN or Chicago, IL corporate office. Candidates must reside within a 60-mile radius of one of these offices and will be required to work onsite, with potential periodic travel to other corporate offices. Work cannot be performed from outside the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with research and analysis of companies and industries to support the investment team's decision-making process.
  • Help build, update, and maintain financial models under the guidance of senior analysts and portfolio managers.
  • Monitor company news, earnings releases, and industry developments, and summarize key findings for the investment team.
  • Collaborate with analysts, portfolio managers, and traders by gathering data, preparing reports, and supporting investment-related projects.
  • Prepare presentations, market updates, and research summaries to help inform team discussions and investment reviews.

Requirements

  • Progress towards a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related discipline.
  • Status as a rising junior or rising senior, with approximate graduation dates of December 2027–June 2029.
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week for 10–12 weeks during the summer.
  • Candidate location in the Central or Eastern US time zone is preferred, or willingness to work Central or Eastern time zone business hours.

Qualifications

  • Prior internship experience.
  • Experience balancing education and a part-time job during the school year.
  • Participation in university clubs.

Schedule

The CNO 2027 internship program will run from May 17 through August 6, 2027.
