Summer 2027 Accounting & Finance Intern

ONE Gas is a premier natural gas distribution company headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We provide natural gas distribution services to approximately 2.3 million customers in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Our internship program is designed to provide students with meaningful, hands-on experience for professional growth and development.

About the role

We’re seeking motivated and high-performing students to join our Accounting & Finance team for a Summer 2027 hybrid internship. This role offers a dynamic blend of in-office and remote work, giving interns exposure to real-world accounting functions, financial analysis, and corporate operations. Interns will work on impactful projects, collaborate with professionals across departments, and participate in networking events with peers and company leadership.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Support financial analysis through data interpretation and spreadsheet modeling.
• Contribute to the preparation and review of:
  • Variance analyses (actual vs. forecast)
  • Regulatory and governmental reports
  • Financial statements
  • Reconciliation and financial metrics reports
• Learn and apply accounting software and tools used in corporate accounting and finance.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance, preferably graduating in December 2027 or May 2028.
• Enrolled at the University of Oklahoma, University of Tulsa, Oklahoma State University, Northeastern State University, or Langston University (other institutions may be considered).
• Maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Involved in extracurricular activities, community service, or leadership roles.
• Experienced through prior internships, part-time jobs, or volunteer work.

Pay

All ONE Gas internship positions are paid. We offer a fair and competitive pay rate.

Schedule

• Projected Internship Dates: Tuesday, June 1st, 2027 – Friday, August 5th, 2027.
• Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week.
