SUE Technician

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the SUE Party Chief and Project Managers to meet project goals and expectations
• Perform SUE field services for internal and external clients
• Accurately collect and document field data, ensuring quality and compliance with company and client standards
• Operate EM and GPR equipment safely and effectively
• Support vacuum excavation activities as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly equipped company vehicle
• Uphold safety standards and contribute to a safe work environment
• Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and teamwork in all interactions
• Embrace and reflect company core values: integrity, respect, quality, community, and sustainability

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience locating underground utilities using SUE equipment (EM and GPR)
• Working knowledge of vacuum excavation methods
• High school diploma or equivalent
• General understanding of utility infrastructure systems
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight for out-of-town projects
• Process-oriented with strong technical aptitude and directional awareness

Working Conditions

• Performed outdoors in areas such as residential neighborhoods and roadways
• Exposed to uneven terrain and all types of weather conditions
• Requires standing/walking for long periods of time outdoors
• May be required to perform moderately strenuous tasks, such as lifting and carrying equipment up to 25 pounds
