SUE Field Supervisor
About the role
Stratus is seeking a SUE Field Supervisor to join their team. This role will oversee and work in a team environment as the leader of a SUE crew assisting in the performance of subsurface utility engineering mapping projects utilizing the latest technologies.
Responsibilities
- Manage management oversight of the field crew.
- Ensure quality of work including accuracy, thoroughness, and clarity.
- Meet schedules, budgets, and responsive service to clients.
- Oversee operation of surveying and/or SUE instrumentation and equipment such as prisms, total stations, GPS, data collectors, magnetic locators, and ground penetrating radar.
- Communicate with clients, project workers, and the public.
- Ensure safekeeping of equipment.
- Read and interpret construction, utility, and survey maps.
- Ensure vehicles and supplies are ready for duty.
- Show ability to work alone or with a crew.
Requirements
- 5-9 years of related experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a driving record check.
- Completed Advanced Utility Locating Training Course or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Understanding of utility systems and how they are constructed, work, and maintained.
Qualifications
- Ability to work alone or with a crew.
Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in using surveying and SUE instrumentation and equipment.
- Knowledge of utility systems and construction practices.
