SUE Field Supervisor

About the role

Stratus is seeking a SUE Field Supervisor to join their team. This role will oversee and work in a team environment as the leader of a SUE crew assisting in the performance of subsurface utility engineering mapping projects utilizing the latest technologies.

Responsibilities

• Manage management oversight of the field crew.
• Ensure quality of work including accuracy, thoroughness, and clarity.
• Meet schedules, budgets, and responsive service to clients.
• Oversee operation of surveying and/or SUE instrumentation and equipment such as prisms, total stations, GPS, data collectors, magnetic locators, and ground penetrating radar.
• Communicate with clients, project workers, and the public.
• Ensure safekeeping of equipment.
• Read and interpret construction, utility, and survey maps.
• Ensure vehicles and supplies are ready for duty.
• Show ability to work alone or with a crew.

Requirements

• 5-9 years of related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a driving record check.
• Completed Advanced Utility Locating Training Course or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Understanding of utility systems and how they are constructed, work, and maintained.

Qualifications

• Ability to work alone or with a crew.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in using surveying and SUE instrumentation and equipment.
• Knowledge of utility systems and construction practices.
