SUD Therapist

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and treatment plans tailored to each client's needs with a focus on Substance Use Disorder.
  • Provides high quality, compassionate and ethical counseling to clients individually to meet treatment goals.
  • Refer clients to other support services including detoxification, intensive programming, psychiatric services, social services programs, and employment services as needed.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential client records in accordance with organizational standards and legal requirements.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical supervision sessions.
  • Stay updated on current research and best practices in mental health and addiction treatment.
  • Assess and manage risk on an ongoing basis and adjust level of care and recommendations as needed.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize effectively and work independently. Knowledge of risk issues and verbal de-escalation abilities, as well as consultation options. Ability to make decisions and mobilize resources quickly and effectively in an emergency. Demonstrates professionalism with related professionals both inside/outside of the agency.

Requirements

  • Active Ohio license/s:LSW: Licensed Social WorkerMSW: Master Social Worker LISW: Licensed Independent Social Worker LPC: Licensed Professional Counselor LPCC: Licensed Professional Clinical CounselorSWG: Social Work Trainee CT: Counselor Trainee
  • Must have a valid Driver License
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Experience working with clients who have substance use backgrounds preferred.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Must have a degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field. Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field. Must have a valid Driver License. Must be able to pass a background check. Experience working with clients who have substance use backgrounds preferred.
