About the role

The Substance Use Disorder Mental Health Professional is responsible for the day-to-day operation of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) services and provision of therapy services.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate team activities
  • Direct patient care including services to individual patients such as conducting individual group and family therapy as needed
  • Initial biopsychosocial assessment
  • Treatment plan development/revision
  • Aftcare planning including referral to community resources as needed
  • Timely and accurate delivery of services
  • Delivery of services in a courteous and professional manner
  • Delivery of services in accordance with applicable policies and procedures, rules, regulations, and prevailing law
  • Maintain effective relationships with other community agencies
  • Cross-referral of patients
  • Collaborate with the Director of Community Education to coordinate/implement SUD marketing plan

Requirements

  • Master’s degree/licensure required; preferred LMSW/LCSW
  • Other master’s level degrees/licensure considered based on experience (LAC/LPC; LMFT)
  • Licensed Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) desired
  • 2 years’ experience working in treatment of substance use disorders preferred
  • Prior experience working with court involved populations is highly desired
  • Must be licensed in the state of Arkansas
  • Must have or obtain current CPI/NCI certification
  • If in recovery, prefer five years post-recovery/sobriety from drug and alcohol addiction, minimum of 2 years

Job Knowledge

  • Knowledge of substance use disorder treatment protocols in the delivery of behavioral health care
  • Knowledge of assessment of patient health
  • Knowledge of health promotion principles, techniques, and patient learning measurements
  • Knowledge of access to resources and systems of care
  • Working knowledge of and adherence to all Unity Health policy and procedures
  • Working knowledge of and adherence to all unit/department policy and procedures including medical record documentation and utilization of up-to-date forms
  • Working understanding of HIPAA, 42-CFR Part 2, Patient Rights, and appropriate conduct
  • Continued ability to create and maintain a positive culture that is respectful of patient and employee rights, consistent with Unity Health Standards of Behavior
