Job Scope
The counselor will provide services based on the Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes Domains of Addiction Counseling (TAP 21) which include: screening, intake, orientation, assessment, treatment planning, counseling, counseling, service coordination, crisis intervention, client education, referral, reports and record keeping, and consultation under the supervision of a Qualified Credential Counselor (QCC).
Responsibilities
- Provide services based on the Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes Domains of Addiction Counseling (TAP 21)
- Screen, intake, orient, assess, and plan treatment for clients
- Counsel clients and their families
- Coordinate services and provide crisis intervention
- Provide client education and make referrals
- Keep accurate records and reports
- Consult with supervisors and other professionals
Requirements
- Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor or Counselor Intern
- Current valid driver's license in state of residence
- Demonstrate knowledge and applied competency in the Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes Domains of Addiction Counseling (TAP 21)
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Meet all CMBHS requirements for documentation entry
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and ability to type at least 30 WPM
- Knowledge and/or training in Specialized Female Services preferred but not required
Qualifications
- Mobility, ability and stamina to sit, bend and reach during an 8-10 hour workday
- Able to lift a minimum of 10lbs
- Sensory acuity to evaluate, treat and monitor client needs
- Fine motor skills sufficient to legibly document and communicate
- Routine 8-10 hour shifts
