About the role
This position is a temporary role to support coverage while staff are on leave. The Substance Use Counselor Clinician I supports individuals with addiction and substance abuse, providing therapeutic support and coordinating care with clients, families, and other professionals.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical services to clients, including substance use treatment and recovery services.
- Facilitate group and individual substance use treatment and recovery services.
- Implement program goals and objectives to meet contractual requirements and productivity.
- Collaborate with the referring agency or other community agencies to coordinate treatment.
- Collect outcome data as required by the agency and contract.
- Participate in scheduled peer review.
- Prevent and control infection.
- Operate a vehicle for work-related activities.
- Report any suspected child or dependent adult/elder abuse or neglect immediately.
- Report any client imminent danger to self or to others or gravely disabled immediately.
Requirements
- Clinician Trainee: Graduation from an accredited undergraduate program with major in social work, psychology, behavior analysis, or related field; Master's degree in progress from an accredited graduate program with major in Social Work, Counseling, or related field; LCSW, LMFT, LPCC license eligibility.
- Clinician I: Master's degree from an accredited graduate program with major in Social Work, Counseling, or related field; BBS registration, licenses, credentials or like certifications must be active and valid.
- One year of experience working as a Substance Abuse Counselor.
- Knowledge of current evidenced-based treatment specific to women in recovery.
Qualifications
- Bilingual preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Excel, Word.
- Valid California driver’s license required for regular driving duties.
