Subway Duty Manager
Fairfield store – flexible shifts between 7 am and 8 pm, including weekends and bank holidays.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity at our award-winning Fairfield store for a Duty Manager (Subway at SPAR) to work in our fresh-food operation. As a member of the Duty Manager team, you will support the Store Manager in leading and motivating colleagues during all operational hours, ensuring excellent customer service and contributing to store sales and profitability through “Brilliant Basics, Moments of Wow, Food For Later, Food For Now.”
Responsibilities
- Prepare all sandwich ingredients, including cooking breakfast and lunch items, baking cookies and bread, and washing, cutting, slicing, chopping and grating ingredients in line with established guidelines.
- Support the Store Manager to ensure a safe, legal and high-performing store, taking overall responsibility for the Subway brand and regulations in-store.
- Assist the SPAR Store Manager to deliver all store operations, objectives and KPIs.
- Manage, coach and support colleagues, helping to develop a motivated and empowered team through a positive, engaging management style.
- Carry out performance management and absence management as appropriate.
- Responsible for opening/closing the department, colleague safety and stock/cash security/accountability during shifts.
- Perform cash reconciliations, voids, refunds and other management tasks for till colleagues.
- Act as a role model and lead the team to deliver an exceptional customer experience that sets us apart from competitors.
- Work with colleagues to promote the store by identifying and actioning opportunities to engage with and support the local community.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and processes.
Requirements
- Previous experience working for Subway preferred.
- Previous management or supervisor experience within a food retail or similar fast-paced operation.
- Committed to achieving and sustaining exceptional customer service standards.

Pay
Up to £13.75 per hour (depending on age).
Schedule
Minimum 32 hours per week (potentially more when the store needs). Permanent contract.
