Duties And Responsibilities
- Create a classroom environment that feels safe for all students.
- Follow lesson plans.
- Maintain an orderly classroom.
- Provide timely and meaningful evaluation/correction of student work.
- Engage students using the Socratic method.
- Lead students through intelligence, charisma, humor, moral integrity, and example.
- Embrace the school's vision of community, learning, and leadership.
- Perform additional assigned campus duties.
- Read, know, and support the school's philosophy, policies, and procedures.
- Follow school policies and procedures, including the Academy Crisis Plan.
- Provide reasonable assistance to students in need and assist with makeup work.
- Communicate with parents as needed.
- Support and enforce the school's dress and behavior codes.
- Promote the orderly behavior of all students.
- Keep accurate records and make required reports.
- Evaluate and document student performance.
- Participate in faculty development on half-days as needed.
- Be an active member of the community of learners and continue professional growth.
- Pursue excellence in teaching and develop knowledge of Western Civilization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or higher degree for a long-term substitute teaching role.
- Certification is not required for general education.
- All majors are welcome.
