Duties And Responsibilities

• Create a classroom environment that feels safe for all students.
• Follow lesson plans.
• Maintain an orderly classroom.
• Provide timely and meaningful evaluation/correction of student work.
• Engage students using the Socratic method.
• Lead students through intelligence, charisma, humor, moral integrity, and example.
• Embrace the school's vision of community, learning, and leadership.
• Perform additional assigned campus duties.
• Read, know, and support the school's philosophy, policies, and procedures.
• Follow school policies and procedures, including the Academy Crisis Plan.
• Provide reasonable assistance to students in need and assist with makeup work.
• Communicate with parents as needed.
• Support and enforce the school's dress and behavior codes.
• Promote the orderly behavior of all students.
• Keep accurate records and make required reports.
• Evaluate and document student performance.
• Participate in faculty development on half-days as needed.
• Be an active member of the community of learners and continue professional growth.
• Pursue excellence in teaching and develop knowledge of Western Civilization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or higher degree for a long-term substitute teaching role.
• Certification is not required for general education.
• All majors are welcome.
