About This Role

Join Ragin Preparatory Christian Academy Little Lambs in Sumter, SC as a Substitute Teachers working with Mixed / All Ages. The role calls for the appropriate professional qualifications and offers $60 – $75/Day to qualified childcare professionals.

What You'll Do

• Follow lesson plans left by the classroom teacher and ensure continuity of instruction.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly classroom environment.
• Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules and policies.
• Take attendance and report any issues to school administration.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials when necessary to meet student needs.
• Provide individual or group instruction as needed.
• Supervise students during class, lunch, recess, and transitions.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and occasionally parents.
• Leave detailed notes for the returning teacher summarizing the day’s activities and student behavior.
• Handle emergencies and unexpected situations calmly and responsibly.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is required;
• Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills are essential.
• The ability to follow written lesson plans and adapt to different teaching styles and grade levels is crucial.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
• Dependability, professionalism, and flexibility are key attributes.
• The ability to pass a background check and fingerprint clearance (as required by local/state law) is mandatory.
• Basic computer literacy and the ability to operate classroom technology (e.g., projectors, online learning platforms) are required.
• The physical ability to supervise students and manage a classroom environment is important.
