Substitute Teacher with Head Start

About the role

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
• Plan engaging activities that support children's development.
• Build strong relationships with children and families to promote growth.
• Communicate effectively with staff and families.
• Maintain consistent routines to provide stability during the regular teacher's absence.
• Accept assignments and show up for scheduled shifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Complete CPR/First Aid training within 90 days of hire.
• Complete a Food Handler's permit course within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to work on random days of the week and month.
• Work at least one shift every 45 days.

Preferred Qualifications

• Child Development Associate Preschool Credential.
• Previous Head Start experience.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Benefits

Pay

$16.90 per hour.

Schedule

On‑call position; you will be contacted as needed to fulfill duties. Assignments can range from a single day to a week or longer, offering a dynamic work environment with significant flexibility. You must be available to work on random days and complete at least one shift every 45 days.
