Substitute Teacher, St. Michael Snohomish

About the role

St. Michael Catholic School in Snohomish, Washington, is seeking dependable, caring, and flexible substitute teachers to serve students in Preschool through 8th grade. Substitute teachers play an important role in maintaining a positive and consistent learning environment when a classroom teacher is absent.

Responsibilities

• Following the teacher's lesson plans
• Leading classroom activities
• Supporting student learning
• Managing classroom routines and behavior
• Supervising students
• Helping ensure a safe and welcoming school day

Qualifications and Skills

• Enjoy working with children of various ages
• Communicate clearly and professionally
• Demonstrate patience, flexibility, and strong classroom‑management skills
• Support the Catholic identity, values, and mission of St. Michael Catholic School
• Work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, and families
• Previous experience in education, childcare, youth ministry, or working with children is preferred but not required
• Candidates do not need to be Catholic but must respect and support the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church

Schedule

As needed during regular school hours (8:15 am‑3:00 pm).

Pay

$20 per hour. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
