Substitute Teacher (PLEASE READ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION BELOW)

Procedure for Applicants

To apply to be a substitute teacher (or paid coach) with the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District, follow these steps:

• Apply for a NJ substitute teacher certificate online through NJ Educator Certification.
• Select "Credential" and choose "Instructional Substitute" (with a 30 credit minimum requirement).
• Upload a PDF of your unofficial college/university transcripts to the district application.
• Provide the case number issued by NJEdCert upon completion of your online application.
• Upload a PDF copy of your teaching or substitute certificate (if you already hold one).
• Complete and submit the NJ Fingerprint Background Check form.
• Pay the necessary fees assessed by the state.
• Be notified of board approval and complete annual Public School Works online training.

Requirements

• Valid NJ teaching or substitute certificate.
• Clear criminal history review by the New Jersey Criminal History Review Unit.
• Completed 30 college credits for substitute certificate eligibility.
• Board-approved paid coaches must have a NJ teaching certificate.
• Unpaid volunteers and clinicians must have a valid teaching or substitute certificate and fingerprint clearance.
• Substitute teachers must have a Mantoux (TB) test performed by a medical provider.
