Substitute Teacher - Fixed Schedule
Acelero Learning is seeking a socially conscious, dedicated Substitute Preschool Teacher to support early childhood education programs and create positive outcomes for children and families. This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience and transferable skills while fostering school readiness in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
About the Role
The Substitute Teacher supports the operation of a Head Start classroom, primarily serving children ages 3 to 4, and works collaboratively with a co-teacher to manage a group of 14 to 20 children. This is a fixed substitute role, assigned to one location, with a minimum of 20 hours per week. The role involves nurturing responsive teacher-child interactions using the CLASS™ framework, fostering an inclusive environment, and delivering age-appropriate, standards-aligned instruction.
Responsibilities
- Foster meaningful interactions using the CLASS™ framework to support emotional, social, and cognitive development.
- Create and maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom that encourages exploration and learning.
- Implement research-based curriculum aligned with developmentally appropriate instruction and school readiness goals.
- Conduct ongoing child assessments to individualize instruction and track developmental progress across all learning domains.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support children with special needs, dual language learners, and varying developmental levels.
- Engage families as partners in their child’s learning and development both at school and at home.
- Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and reflective practices to contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Passion for early learning and a deep commitment to supporting young children’s social, emotional, and academic growth in an inclusive environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with children, families, and team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience teaching preschool-aged children, with the ability to adapt strategies to meet diverse developmental needs.
- A team-oriented mindset and willingness to collaborate with co-teachers, families, and support staff.

Pay
$14.33 per hour.
Schedule
Minimum of 20 hours per week, starting August 2026. Assigned to Acelero Learning - Wardelle location.
