Substitute Teacher - Eastern Monroe Career Center (EMCC)

Location: Fairport, NY 14450; Eastern Monroe Career Center

Term: Per Diem Substitute for the 2026-2027 School Year

Starting date: As needs present

Pay

$24.67 per hour or $185 per day

Responsibilities

• Follow lessons provided by the regular teacher to engage students in learning.
• Engage high school students in various career and technical education programs.
• Manage the classroom by encouraging student participation and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Maintain appropriate records including attendance.
• Communicate effectively with administration and other school staff regarding student needs and progress.
• Perform other duties, as needed.

Requirements

• NYS Certification preferred but not required.
• Work experience in one of the following Career and Technical fields preferred but not required:
  • Construction Trades (Carpentry and Electrical)
  • Culinary Arts
  • Criminal Justice
  • Cosmetology
  • Education Careers
  • Health Care
  • Information Technology
  • Automotive
  • Welding
• Experience working with high school aged students preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
