Job Purpose
The Substitute Teacher works in partnership with teaching teams to provide responsive support across classrooms. This role helps ensure a warm, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for all children by actively engaging in the daily rhythm of the classroom, fostering meaningful relationships, and supporting the implementation of curriculum.

- Engage with children through a warm, responsive, and developmentally appropriate approach
- Support peer relationships and social-emotional growth through gentle guidance and presence
- Participate in children’s play as a coach, role model, and active observer
- Reinforce classroom expectations and help guide problem-solving and conflict resolution with empathy and respect
- Redirect behaviors with empathy and understanding, in alignment with classroom norms
- Contribute to a welcoming and inclusive environment that nurtures each child’s sense of belonging
- Create environments that reflect the values, identities, and learning of the children
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an early childhood or early elementary education setting
- Demonstrated interest in continued professional growth and learning
- 12 ECE Units
Additional Requirements
- Up to Date Mandated Reporter Training Certificate
- Health screening and TB test
- Pediatric CPR/First Aid Completion
- Community Care Licensing (CCLD) paperwork
