Responsibilities
- Develops, implements, and evaluates the individual education and individualized education programs (IEP’s) for all assigned students according to program guidelines.
- Provides leadership and direction to the interdisciplinary team of professionals and paraprofessionals who provide services to assigned students.
- Supervises and directs the work of assigned classroom education staff.
- Works collaboratively with parents, school districts, municipalities, and other agencies to ensure that the student’s needs are met.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in the field of Education or a related field is required.
- At least 1 year of job-related experience, specifically in an educational setting working with children with disabilities is required.
- Must be enrolled or pursue enrollment upon hire in a higher education Special Education program for a minimum of six credits per year to ultimately pursue a Special Education Bachelors degree and Special Education New York State certifications.
