Substitute Teacher
About the role
We are seeking a part-time classroom substitute to teach in a classical and Catholic classroom for up to 13 hours per week in our Pelham, New Hampshire location. The position is hourly, and childcare/nursery is provided. Center hours are Mondays and Thursdays 9:00am - 3:30pm.
Applicants must be available to attend one mandatory training day on August 10, 11, or 12, 2026 (8am-5pm; no childcare provided, nursing babies always welcome). No additional vacation days are given, with accommodations made for sick days as needed.

Regina Caeli Academy is a classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition, offering instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting. The mission of Regina Caeli Academy is to form classically educated young men and women according to the unbroken tradition and teaching of the Roman Catholic Church, the Ignatian Principles of Education, and the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius.
Responsibilities
- Teach in a classical and Catholic classroom setting
- Follow provided curriculum and grading guidelines
- Provide instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards
Requirements
- Must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church
- Must have a deep love for the Catholic faith and be living it day-to-day, including having received all the sacraments appropriate to his or her state in life
- Must complete a background check and RCA Safe Child training prior to teaching
- Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness
- Traditional view of the student/teacher relationship
Qualifications
- No teaching certification or formal teaching experience required
- Experience homeschooling, working with homeschool children, ministry in a Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes, teaching your own children, or teaching in a classical or private school is beneficial but not required
