Substitute Teacher

Execute lesson plans or instructions left by the classroom teacher. Maintain a respectful and fair classroom culture that fosters safe and productive learning. Supervise student behavior according to VBCPS policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Completed 30 semester credit hours from an accredited institution
• Completed the Child Abuse and Neglect Training (CANT)
• Attach transcripts and CANT certificate to the attachment section of your employment application

Classified Substitute

• Teacher Assistant Positions: General Assistant, Kindergarten Assistant, P.E. assistant, and Special Education Assistant
• Clerical
• Other Classified Positions: Distance Learning Assistant, Interpreter, Security Assistant, ISS Coordinator

HOW TO APPLY

• A minimum of three references are required in the reference section of your application
• One of the three must be a current or former supervisor
• The references should not be more than two years old
• If selected, you will be contacted by the Substitute Office to proceed with fingerprinting
